Tricia Davidson studied at Glasgow School of Art under the tuition of painter and designer Robert Stewart. The approach in the department was to take a rather fine art direction to printed textile. This link is evident in the work of many artists from Dufy and John Piper to Henry Moore and Howard Hodgkin and countless others. Matisse was inspired by textiles and had a large collection of fabrics from many sources which he often used in paintings.

Having trained at Glasgow, with its strong approach to drawing as a discipline, Tricia did a post-grad at UMIST in Manchester studying colour, followed by another at Manchester poly studying the application of colour in industry. Initially working as a freelance textile designer a subsequent move into teaching art led back into painting and fine art.

Now living in Suffolk, Tricia works as a contemporary mixed media artist.
